CRISTINA Y LOS STOP

Cristina was born in 1943 and she liked singing, so she formed a band called "Donald Duck"  with other four members: Juan, Alfonso, Rafa and Paco. They got some success and so they got to record their first album in the year 1966. But because of this they had to change their band name to make it sound better for the business, so they changed the name to "Cristina y los Stop". With this band Cristina got some hits, such as "Tres cosas (Salud, dinero y amor)" ("Three things - health, money and love")

TRES COSAS (SALUD, DINERO Y AMOR)

Tres cosas hay en la vida,
Salud, dinero y amor
Y el que tenga estas tres cosas
Que le de gracias a dios.
(repetir)

El que tenga un amor,
Que lo cuide, que lo cuide,
La salud y la platita
Que no la tire, que no la tire.
Eso es verdad,
Eso conviene,
Porque el que guarda
Siempre tiene.
(repetir)

THREE THINGS (HEALTH, MONEY AND LOVE).

There are three things in life
Health, money and love.
And the one who has these 3 things
May thank god.
(repeat).

The one that has love,
Take care of it, take care of it,
Health and money
Don’t waste it, don’t waste it.
That’s true,
It’s convenient,
Cause if you keep it
You always have it.
(repeat)

or "El turista 1.999.999" ("The tourist 1.999.999")

THE TOURIST 1.999.999

The tourist 1.999.999
When he arrived, he was sorry,
As he got so quickly off the plane
Wearing his mini short
He missed the chance
Of getting the attentions
That luckily were given
To the tourist 2 million.

But it doesn’t matter, he resigned himself, and in Mallorca he was happy as anyone, as anyone, as anyone.

Cause Palma offered him it’s world of sun, a world of sun, a world of love.

The tourist 1.999.999
Will take to his country
The memory of this sun and this sea
That he will never be able to forget.

After leaving the band, she began a solo career and she got some success with songs such as "Viva la vida" ("Long live life")

VIVA LA VIDA

Te buscaré, cariño por todas partes
No pararé hasta encontrarte
Yo necesito tu amor.
Te buscaré,
Y el día que yo te encuentre,
Será todo diferente
Y podré cantar al amor.

Te buscaré,
Irás como un vagabundo
Andando por todo el mundo
Y un día te encontraré.
Te buscaré,
Y el día menos pensado,
Me sentiré enamorada
Y entonces podré cantar

Viva la vida, viva la vida,
Viva la vida, viva el amor
Viva la vida , viva las mujeres
Que en este mundo son lo mejor.

(repetir)
LONG LIVE LIFE

I’ll look for you, Darling, everywhere
I won’t stop until I find you
I need your love.
I’ll look for you,
And the day I find you
Everything will be different
And I’ll be able to sing to love.

I’ll look for you,
You’ll be as a beggar,
Walking around the world
And one day I’ll find you.
I’ll look for you,
And the less expected day,
I’ll feel in love
And then I’ll be able to sing

Long live life, long live life
Long live life, long live love
Long live life, long live women
Who are the best in this world.

(repeat).

or "Cambiemos el color del cielo" ("Let's change the colour of the sky").

CAMBIEMOS EL COLOR DEL CIELO

Cambiemos el color del cielo
Yo sé que podemos
Total nos queremos
La vida es amor.

Mientras juegas con mi pelo
La vida sonríe
Cambiemos cariño
El color del cielo.

Muchas nubes ocultan el sol
Al igual que las penas de amor
Si me quieres ayúdame hoy
Yo te quiero en otro color.

Y que sea azul muy azul,
O amarillo, o verde o marrón,
No me importa cuál sea el color
Lo que importa es que sea de amor.

(repetir)
LET’S CHANGE THE COLOUR OF THE SKY

Let’s change the colour of the sky
I know we can
As we love each other
Life is love.

While you’re  playing with my hair
Life smiles
Let’s change, darling
The colour of the sky.

A lot of clouds hide the sun
And also the sadness of love
If you love me help me today
I want you in another colour.

And let it be blue very blue
Or yellow, or green or brown
I don’t mind the colour
As it is a colour of love.

(repeat).

Amongst her solo songs, I highlight the great song "El extraño de pelo largo" ("The stranger with long hair"), a cover of the song created by La Joven Guardia, a band from Argentina.

EL EXTRAÑO DE PELO LARGO

Vagando por la calle
Mirando la gente pasar
El extraño de pelo largo
Sin complicaciones va.

Hay fuego en su mirada
Y un poco de insatisfacción
Por una mujer que siempre quiso
Y nunca pudo amar.

Inútil es que trates de entender
O interpretar quizás sus actos
Él es un rey extraño
Un rey de pelo largo.

Hay fuego en su mirada
Y un poco de insatisfacción
Por una mujer que siempre quiso
Y nunca pudo amar, jamás, jamás, jamás.

Inútil es que trates de entender
O interpretar quizás sus actos
Él es un rey extraño
Un rey de pelo largo.

Vagando por la calle
Mirando la gente pasar
El extraño de pelo largo
Sin complicaciones va.

Hay fuego en su mirada
Y un poco de insatisfacción
Por una mujer que siempre quiso
Y nunca pudo amar, jamás, jamás, jamás.

THE STRANGE WITH LONG HAIR

Wandering along the street
Looking at people passing by
The strange with long hair
Untroubled walks.

There’s fire in his look
And a bit of dissatisfaction
For a woman he always wanted
But he could never love.

It’s useless trying to understand
Or maybe to interpret his acts
He’s a strange king
A long haired king.

There’s fire in his look
And a bit of dissatisfaction
For a woman he always wanted
But he could never love, never, never, never.

It’s useless trying to understand
Or maybe to interpret his acts
He’s a strange king
A long haired king.

Wandering along the street
Looking at people passing by
The strange with long hair
Untroubled walks.

There’s fire in his look
And a bit of dissatisfaction
For a woman he always wanted
But he could never love, never, never, never.
